Our Church
City Baptist Church has a heart to reach all people who call this great city their home. We hope to answer some questions you may have below.
Please reach out if you have any other questions.
What Is a Baptist?
A Baptist church is a body of believers, baptized by immersion, voluntarily joined together to carry out the Great Commission. We hold the Bible as our sole authority for faith and practice. We believe in the priesthood of every believer, meaning every believer has equal access to God. We believe that the separation of church and state is taught in the Bible. Baptists have two ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s Supper) and two offices (pastors and deacons).
Is Independent Baptist a Denomination?
No. We do not report to a hierarchy of any kind. We do, however, fellowship with other likeminded churches for the purpose of the gospel.
Is There Childcare?
Yes, there is a nursery for ages 3 and under and a Sunday School hour for children, ages 4 and up.
Is There Parking?
The Lord has provided us with ample parking behind our church building.
What Do People Usually Wear at City Baptist Church?
Most of our people wear their “Sunday best” for our services, but we do not have a dress code. We want you to feel welcome and comfortable at our church!
What Service Should I
Come To?
We do not have the same message offered multiple time during the week. Each service is unique. It is our prayer that each service will help strengthen you in your faith and personal walk with Christ and provide you with the fellowship you need as a believer. You are welcome at all of them.
